The Preservation of Our Government

II Samuel 23:3 “The God of Israel said, the Rock of Israel spake to me, He that ruleth over men must be just, ruling in the fear of the Lord.”

Christian citizen, we are exactly a year out from our next general election! Daniel Webster, the Father of American Scholarship and Education, said:

“When you become entitled to exercise the right of voting for public officers, let it be impressed on your mind that God commands you to choose for rulers, ‘just men who will rule in the fear of God.’ The preservation of [our] government depends on the faithful discharge of this Duty; if the citizens neglect their Duty and place unprincipled men in office, the government will soon be corrupted; laws will be made, not for the public good so much as for selfish or local purposes; corrupt or incompetent men will be appointed to execute the Laws; the public revenues will be squandered on unworthy men; and the rights of the citizen will be violated or disregarded.”

We are approaching an election that will determine whether we are a country that is destined to rise or fall based on the justness of those we elect. Our votes will determine whether our Bible-based form of government is to be preserved or ruined. Our selection will determine whether our Constitutional rights are to be uplifted or violated. The choice is ours, and it is not too early to pray. In fact, our prayers for the upcoming election should have started long ago. Any further delay may cause them to be too late.

PLEASE FAITHFULLY AND FERVENTLY PRAY FOR THE 2016 AMERICAN ELECTION. We must not neglect our duty. The preservation of our government is at stake!

SET YOUR ALARM: If you’re ENCOURAGED (by the 2015 election results that indicate an awakening of the Christian electorate), set your alarm (to pray for our nation)!

The End More Than The Beginning

Job 42:12-13 “So the LORD blessed the latter end of Job more than his beginning: for he had fourteen thousand sheep, and six thousand camels, and a thousand yoke of oxen, and a thousand asses. He had also seven sons and three daughters.”

As Christians, we need to have the long view of life. The results at the end are far more important than our position at the beginning. No matter where our paths take us, we must retain our trust in the LORD and maintain our sights on the end.

Job faced some extreme highs in life and some severe lows. From the perspective of select periods in his life it seemed as if he were a failure. Yet, he endured in prayerfulness and faithfulness. He retained his trust in the Lord and maintained his sights on the end. From the perspective of the entirety of his life, Job was a marvelous success.

As individual Christians, we may have select periods in our lives where we seem like failures. Yet, our sustained prayerfulness and faithfulness are what is required to be marvelous successes in God’s eyes.

Similarly as a nation, we are experiencing a period where we seem like a failed experiment. Yet, our sustained prayerfulness and faithfulness can allow us to successfully return to God.

PLEASE PRAY FOR AMERICA TO SEE GREATER BLESSINGS THAN EVEN THOSE IN OUR PAST. The latter end of America can still be more than its beginning.

Twice As Much

Job 42:10 “And the LORD turned the captivity of Job, when he prayed for his friends: also the LORD gave Job twice as much as he had before.”

Job went through a deep and tortuous valley in his life. He was blessed with peace and plenty before the valley and almost lost everything. At times, his situation looked hopeless. Yet, he endured in faithfulness and prayerfulness. As a result, the trial was only temporary. In fact, Job ended up with twice as much as he had before.

America is going through a deep and tortuous valley. We were blessed with peace and plenty before the valley and currently look like we are loosing it all. At times, our situation looks hopeless. Yet, if we endure in faithfulness and prayerfulness we may find that the trial is only temporary. In fact, we may find that we end up with twice as much as we had before.

I want what we had before in America. Even more so, I prayerfully yearn for even more than that. PLEASE PRAY FOR FAITHFULNESS AND PRAYERFULNESS IN THE MIDST OF OUR NATIONAL TRIAL. God gave Job twice as much as he had before. We should desire the same.

SET YOUR ALARM: If you’re alarmed (that American students continue to fall behind in spite of common curriculum and testing), set your alarm (to pray for our nation)!

Courage Rewarded

Esther 4:14 “For if thou altogether holdest thy peace at this time, then shall there enlargement and deliverance arise to the Jews from another place; but thou and thy father’s house shall be destroyed: and who knoweth whether thou art come to the kingdom for such a time as this?”

Esther 5:3 “Then said the king unto her, What wilt thou queen Esther? And what is thy request? It shall be even given thee to the half of the kingdom.”

God could have sent Esther to 21st century America to stand up to the kings of this world. Though it took a bit of prodding for her to stand up for her people and her God in her country, she courageously did so and her courage was rewarded.

It may take a bit of prodding for us to stand up for our people and our God in our country. Consider this the prod. We have been placed here for such a time as this. We have nowhere else to turn. We have no one else to rely upon. We are it, and God desires that we would courageously stand up to the kings of this world. Our courage will be rewarded.

PLEASE PRAY THAT EACH CHRISTIAN WOULD RECOGNIZE OUR PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY TO STAND FOR GOD IN OUR LAND. When we courageously stand up to the king, we may find our requests given unto us. Esther did.

Subduing Kingdoms

Hebrews 11:33-34 “Who through faith subdued kingdoms, wrought righteousness, obtained promises, stopped the mouths of lions, Quenched the violence of fire, escaped the edge of the sword, out of weakness were made strong, waxed valiant in fight, turned to flight the armies of the aliens.”

God could have sent any of the heroes-of-the-faith from Hebrews 11 to current day America. He could have sent Abel, Enoch, Noah, Abraham, Sara, Isaac, Jacob, Joseph, Moses, Joshua, Israel or Rahab. For that matter, He could have sent Peter, John, Paul, Timothy, Silas, Lois, Eunice, or Stephen. Instead, He sent you and He sent me.

These heroes of the past did amazing things by being faithful. They fully relied upon God and watched Him work through them. Out of weakness they were made strong.

God has entrusted us to subdue our own kingdom – 21st century America. He could have sent others, but instead sent us. Through faith, we can do things just as marvelous as these heroes-of-the-faith. Without faith, we will continue to flounder while others subdue our kingdom instead.

PLEASE PRAY THAT, THROUGH FAITH, CHRISTIANS WOULD RISE TO OUR RESPONSIBILITIES IN MODERN DAY AMERICA. Only through faith can we subdue a kingdom badly in need of our influence.

SET YOUR ALARM: If you’re alarmed (that we’re far more interested in past scandals than solving today’s tough problems), set your alarm (to pray for our nation)!
